Green Shield Risk Solutions, a provider of risk management and insurance solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Technosylva, a company specialising in catastrophic event simulation, risk analysis, and operational response that supports electric utilities and government agencies worldwide.

This partnership marks a significant milestone, with Green Shield becoming the first insurance company to integrate Technosylva’s advanced wildfire propagation modelling into its Property Guardian suite of wildfire solutions.

By integrating Technosylva’s FireSim™ real-time wildfire spread modelling technology with Green Shield’s expertise and advanced wildfire analytics, Property Guardian can now simulate up to 100 wildfires within a five-mile radius of any property.

Utilising 20 years of Technosylva’s proprietary high-resolution weather data and fuel models, Property Guardian predicts wildfire behaviour in real time, including speed, direction, flame length, and probability, based on current conditions rather than historical data.

Unlike traditional methods that focus solely on proximity to fire stations, this approach also considers terrain challenges and suppression difficulties. Together, Technosylva and Property Guardian deliver a comprehensive wildfire risk overview across the continental US, enabling virtual mitigation inspections and precise risk reduction with just a click.

“No other insurance company is leveraging wildfire data like Green Shield. By combining Technosylva’s dynamic wildfire modelling with Property Guardian’s comprehensive suite of solutions, we’re delivering unmatched risk analysis to our clients — allowing them to make more informed underwriting decisions, achieve stronger results, protect their portfolios, and enhance their loss prevention strategies.”

“Through our recent acquisition of Katrisk and our partnership with Green Shield, we are leveraging advanced wildfire modelling and risk assessments to bridge a gap in the insurance industry,” commented Bryan Spear, CEO of Technosylva.

“For nearly three decades, these tools have been trusted by leading electric utilities and fire agencies around the world. We are excited for this partnership and the opportunity to solve this pressing problem for both homeowners and insurance companies.”

Green Shield is extending its wildfire analytics capabilities to other insurance carriers, offering advanced technology to enhance risk assessment and mitigation efforts.

By combining internal expertise with industry solutions, the company aims to support insurers in better managing wildfire risks.

In collaboration with Technosylva’s advanced wildfire analytics, Green Shield will provide these insights starting January 1, 2025, to clients such as Striior Insurance Solutions, BMS Group, Arden Insurance Services, and other major Fortune 100 insurers, helping them safeguard their portfolios with greater accuracy and confidence.
